The Setting

The Barna-Bus Pre School is located in St. Barnabas Church Hall, St. Barnabas Church, Quarry Road, Tunbridge Wells. The premises are light, airy and cheerful and we have a purpose built, brand new, outside play area.  We welcome all children from the surrounding area regardless of which Primary School you hope your child will attend.  The setting is easily accessible and parking is available.

Our community based setting is a member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance.  We are registered under Ofsted No. EY368400

Aims of The Barna-Bus Pre School

  • To be open to every family in the community,
  • provide a secure and nurturing environment in which each child can reach his/her full potential,
  • offer high quality care and education to children from the age of 2 to 5 years,
  • work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop,
  • meet children’s individual needs,
  • promote equality of opportunity and value diversity in all aspects of pre-school life and
  • add to the life of the St Barnabas community and beyond.

Parents

All parents will be:

  • valued and respected
  • kept informed
  • consulted
  • involved
  • included at all levels where possible

The Barna-Bus Pre School also carries expectations on parents for their support and commitment where possible.

We aim to ensure that each child:

  • is in a safe and stimulating environment in which each child feels safe to explore
  • is given generous care and attention, because of our ratio of staff to children
  • has the chance to join with other children and adults to live, play, work and learn together
  • is helped to take forward his/her learning and development by being helped
  • has a key person who provides parents/carers with a focal individual for communication and information exhange. The key person will monitor the child’s development and keep progress and observational records which will be shared with parents/carers.
  • encourage decision making by the children to help them become independent
  • is in a setting in which parents help to shape the service it offers
